Created during Mounir’s time at City-As-School High School, an institution once attended by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, this drawing emerged from his participation in the Music, Art & Design (MAD) Academy. At the time, his interests had shifted toward real estate and investment banking, leaving his artistic pursuits largely unexplored. The program would reignite his relationship with the arts, becoming the setting in which he rediscovered sewing and began to recognize creative expression as central to his identity. In retrospect, the work’s title carries an unintended irony. What began as a drawing of obscured vision now serves as a record of a period in which the artist was beginning to uncover his own sense of purpose.
