LAND I OWN.
Land I Own
LAND I OWN is the personal archive and evolving body of work of Mounir Sakho, a New York-born multidisciplinary creative working across fashion, art, design, music, technology, and the built environment.
Founded on the belief that ownership extends beyond physical territory, LAND I OWN explores the relationship between an individual and the things they create, acquire, discover, and make their own.
Land, in this context, is not confined to geography. It can exist as an idea, an object, a business, a composition, a memory, or a digital space. Its significance is not determined by monetary value, but by the relationship established with it.
The archive brings together original works, personal possessions, historical artifacts, creative experiments, and objects of inspiration. Some are authored by the artist; others are collected, inherited, or reinterpreted. Each represents a distinct piece of territory within an expanding personal world.
LAND I OWN makes no distinction between the monumental and the ordinary. A family photograph, an independent enterprise, a flea-market discovery, and an unfinished sketch can occupy the same space, each carrying its own history and significance.
More than a collection of possessions, it is a record of identity formed through curiosity, intention, and the act of claiming one’s place in the world.
Land is not merely what one possesses. It is what one makes one’s own.
